After breaking my foot I’ve gone up a size or so and thinking about weight loss has been kind of unavoidable as my body strains against too-tight clothing. Is this a body positive failure? Nah, as I’ve told my friends who are looking to lose a little weight before, if you’re doing it from a place of self-love, it can still be a body positive experience.
For me, I’m just getting back into running again and cutting back on my alcohol intake (especially beer). These are healthy things I should be doing anyway, and if it doesn’t result in weight loss that’s ok—I can always get new clothes with the money I’ll be saving by not buying beer ;)
Since goal weights are arbitrary and have a tendency to creep ever downward, rather than checking a scale, I’ll be checking in with my body and asking: how is my energy level? Do I feel fit? Do I feel strong? Keeping it positive <3
